Chicago’s riverfront continues to be a competitive market for restaurant hospitality.
From Crain’s Chicago Business, The Carlyle Club a new concept coming to 316 N Clark Street this summer. This is under construction at the Reid Murdoch & Co. building across from the riverwalk, and will feature a 72-seat patio. Owner Steve Gogolab is aiming for an August opening date.
What Now Chicago covered Gogolab and his team opening Deliz at 1840 W North Avenue in Wicker Park last October. This opened last winter and has become a top choice in the neighborhood for steak, Italian cuisine and a night out. Gogolab is again working with Deliz partner and chef Jakob Peterson for the project.
In a recent post from real estate agent David Goldberg, the concept was described as a new energetic dining destination for the downtown area.
“This isn’t just another opening, this is one of the last true riverfront opportunities in Chicago, says the post. A menu has not yet been released, but it will feature sandwiches, seafood and steaks with international flavors.
The new concept is coming to the north side of the river, sharing the building with River Roast restaurant. This address was previously The Kitchen American Bistro. Which closed earlier this year. Right across the street are RPM Seafood and Pizzeria Portofino.
A press release has not yet been sent out, and when What Now Chicago reached out for comment representatives from the company said “we are at the early stages.” Carlyle Club will have social media pages or a website showcasing the restaurant in the near future.
