The downtown area’s restaurant scene is a competitive market, and is not slowing down this year.
Chloe is the name of a new concept coming to 1 S Wacker Drive, per a recent city liquor license application. The project comes from local restaurateur Sean Rouzbeh. An opening date has not yet been announced.
“Chloe brings a genuinely good, welcoming energy to 1 South Wacker, offering a cozy oasis designed with the Loop’s professional in mind,” reads a statement from the Chloe team sent to What Now Chicago.
“Named in loving memory of the owner’s beloved family dog, the restaurant captures that same unparalleled warmth and personality in both its staff and its space. Whether you’re stopping by the coffee window to start your day or settling in for dinner with people you love, our menu offers wholesome, modern American comfort food with exciting global twists and fresh, natural ingredients. It’s a beautifully designed yet entirely comforting space where you can come as you are and stay as long as you like,” the statement continues.
In the past, Rouzbeh has opened up The Marq in 2014 at 60 W Adams Street. This has since become a well-known downtown restaurant serving American fare. He was also a manager for Zed 451, a Brazilian dining spot in River North that is now closed.
The new concept is opening near the river walk, at the intersection of W Madison Street. Other restaurants and cafes nearby include South Branch Tavern & Grille, FARE and Convene Cafe. Also at the building are corporate offices and Blue River PetCare.
From the application, the space will also feature an outdoor patio and will be on the first floor. As of now, food and drink menus have not been released.
Right now, the team is waiting to unveil more information about the concept as it is early in the opening process.
