Fat Zach’s Pizza is preparing to open its first Tacoma location this fall at Tacoma Mall, according to a recent report from The News Tribune.
The restaurant will open at 4502 S. Steele Street, taking over the former MOD Pizza space across from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. The addition marks the brand’s first Tacoma location and fourth brick-and-mortar restaurant overall.
Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Zach and Shanna Johns, Fat Zach’s Pizza began as a food truck in 2019 before expanding into storefront locations in Sumner, downtown Puyallup, and South Hill.
The Washington-based brand has built a following around its oversized pizzas, specialty pies, wings, salads, desserts, and family-focused atmosphere. The company describes itself as being passionate about family, friends, community, and “pizza that unites.”
Menu highlights include specialty pizzas such as the Fat Zach, topped with Canadian bacon, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon; the pickle-topped #NBD; and The Outlaw, made with beef burnt ends, beer mac and cheese, bacon, red onion, and barbecue sauce.
Customers can also build their own pizzas with a variety of crusts, sauces, meats, cheeses, and toppings.
In addition to pizza, Fat Zach’s serves traditional and boneless wings, garlic bread, breadsticks, salads, cannoli, desserts, and a selection of beer, wine, hard seltzers, and canned cocktails at select locations.
An exact opening date has not yet been announced. What Now Seattle reached out to Fat Zach’s Pizza, and this article may be updated as more information becomes available.
