Memphis fashionistas, get ready for a wardrobe refresh. A new clothing store called Shanta’s Custom Design is making moves towards opening on Hickory Hill Road, pending a few necessary approvals.

Owner and namesake Shanta Stuckey has filed papers to open the concept at 3550 Hickory Hill Road. A certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development as of June 22 shows that Shanta’s Custom Design will have 588 square of space to work with.

Shanta’s Custom Design also has a sign permit submitted as of June 23. While these two applications are important pieces of bureaucracy, they do not provide a definitive timeline for the store’s opening; they do, however, show that forward momentum is occurring, a positive indicator for future customers.

There is not presently a great deal of information available about Shanta’s Custom Design; What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further details and will update readers as particulars to to light. However locals can rest assured that they are in good hands with Stuckey, who previously launched Klassy Kouture Consignment.
