A new destination for Thai comfort food is headed to Anaheim. Khao Soi, a specialty concept from the owners behind Manaao Thai Comfort Food, will open at Katella Commons, the 50,000-square-foot market hall at OCVIBE, which is scheduled to debut in early 2027.

The concept comes from chefs Kanate Ungkasrithongkul and Anita Lin, a husband-and-wife team who have built a reputation through Manaao Thai Comfort Food in Tustin and at Irvine Spectrum Center. While Manaao offers a broader menu of Thai favorites, Khao Soi will focus exclusively on the restaurant’s signature Thai curry dishes through a smaller, curated menu.

The original Manaao Thai Comfort Food has earned recognition for its authentic approach to Thai cuisine, including the prestigious Thai SELECT Signature Certification. Its namesake khao soi has also been featured on the Los Angeles Times “Best Dishes” list.

The restaurant’s recommended menu highlights the bold, regional flavors that have made it a name for itself. Signature dishes include the namesake Khao Soi, alongside specialties such as Gaeng Som with Shrimp and Cha om Omelette, a traditional sour and spicy fish curry soup made without coconut milk, and Thai Boat Noodle, a rich beef broth filled with braised short rib, rib eye, meatballs, and fresh greens. Other standouts include Crab Fried Rice made with premium crab meat, Mama Tom Yum Hot Pot loaded with creamy tom yum broth, noodles, seafood, and pork, Spicy Braised Pork Ribs, and Ground Rib Eye Beef Gravy Noodles, showcasing the restaurant’s focus on authentic Thai comfort food with deeply layered flavors.

Khao Soi will join a lineup of chef-driven concepts at Katella Commons, including Burritos La Palma and Evil Cooks. When complete, the market hall will feature 21 kitchens and six bar and lounge concepts, serving as a central dining destination within the 100-acre OCVIBE development surrounding Honda Center.
