A bookstore and event space is coming to the Southeast Michigan town.

A new business concept called Bumblebee Books is on the way to the Howell area, offering both novels to choose from and a space for bridal showers and small weddings. Owner Hannah Sanchez told What Now Detroit she did not want to release an address yet, but it is coming to the city sometime this year.

Sanchez just recently launched a Kickstarter for the space. On the page, the story section describes the business as being a space for readers to find new books and meet authors as well. An area for parties is being built alongside the bookstore. The page will soon include rewards for reserving the event space in the future.

“We’ll also offer optional add-ons like curated book bundles, book-themed favors, and, when needed, an ordained officiant for couples looking to keep everything in one place, without having to go to the courthouse,” says a recent Facebook post.

While getting this concept ready, Sanchez runs her own business called Creative by Sanchez. On the website, she sells books like fantasy and romance novels, as well as graphic novels. She has not yet announced the book options that will be available at Bumblebee.

What Now Detroit is awaiting further comment on the new concept. For more updates on Bumblebee Books and the official opening date, visit the business’s Facebook page.
