Following their debut in 2024, owners of the Mexican restaurant have big plans for Southeast Michigan.
Don Patron is one of the newest tenants coming to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills. This will be the chain’s second location, the first being in Sterling Heights. Members of staff told What Now Detroit an exact date is not confirmed, but it may be sometime next month as renovations are underway.
“Dan Patron serves up authentic dishes made with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. With vibrant décor and a festive atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine,” says the description on Great Lakes Crossings’ website.
The Sterling Heights location at 43650 Schoenherr Road is at the intersection of Canal Road, close to the Lakeside Mall site which closed permanently in 2024. The space features an outdoor patio, and serves margaritas along with the food.
The restaurant has an extensive menu of burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, pork and steak. Large appetizers are also served, like the french fries, Texas dip and chimi fajitas. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, and it looks like the Auburn Hills spot will have the same hours.
From Great Lakes Crossings’ layout map, Don Patron will be at the southeast corner of the mall, close to the AMC Theatres entrance. This is between Miyako Japanese Steakhouse and Escapology escape room. The mall is off of Interstate 75 on Baldwin Road.
When contacted, co-owner Gustavo Torres did not have a firm opening date for the new restaurant, but he goes to the location daily to work on renovations. More updates can be found on the restaurant’s Instagram @donpatronmi.
