As a new concept prepares to take its old home, hope is alive that a beloved pizza institution will make its comeback soon. Slice of Soul Pizza Lounge has assured locals it is coming back-though where, precisely, is not yet known.

The beloved pizzeria served up its signature pies out of 1299 Madison Avenue until December of last year. In its initial announcement regarding the closure, Slice of Soul stated: “but we’re not gone! We’re refreshing and reimagining, and will be back this spring with a new location, new vibes, and the same flavors you love.”

Noting that spring has passed, folks in the comments section have been inquiring about the new location, eager to enjoy the concept’s fare again. Slice of Soul has not yet announced an address for its new location, nor a revised timeline for when, precisely, it will be customer-ready again.  As a new tenant prepares to take over the concept’s old space, interest is sure to be renewed in the pizzeria.

Launched in 2018, Slice of Soul Pizza lounge quickly set itself apart from other pizzerias through its unique and welcoming environment and meticulously crafted pies. The website explains: “The lounge’s ambiance captures the essence of Southern hospitality, with soulful R&B and Neo-Soul music flowing through the space, while classic shows like Sanford and Son play silently across mounted TVs. Their carefully curated environment provides the perfect backdrop for their innovative pizza creations, including local favorites like the Memphis Meat Mafia and the vegetarian-friendly Al Green pizza, both showcasing their signature thin-crust style generously loaded with fresh ingredients.”
