An Italian gelato brand is expanding to the East Coast with plans to open its first New York City location.
Bacio di Latte, founded in 2011 by brothers Edoardo and Luigi Tonolli, is set to debut at 287 Bleecker St. near 7th Ave., according to a photo shared by New Openings NYC.
The brothers drew inspiration from traditional recipes they discovered while traveling across Italy.
The shop makes its gelato fresh in-store each day using milk and cream sourced from family farms in Sonoma County.
Signature flavors include cookies and cream, hazelnut chocolate, sweet cream, pistachio, strawberry cheesecake, vanilla caramel and tiramisu. Customers can enjoy the gelato in a cup, waffle cone or sugar cone.
No Italian dessert shop would be complete without an affogato, featuring a scoop of Bacio di Latte’s gelato topped with a shot of espresso. The menu also includes a selection of baked treats, including chocolate chip cookies with Rice Krispies and marshmallow, oatmeal lace cookies with maple buttercream, brownie cookies, cinnadoodle and pecan pie bars.
An official opening date has not yet been announced. Visit the Bacio di Latte website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
