Travelers passing through Jacksonville International Airport will soon have another place to pick up a piece of the city before heading home.
Postcards from Jax is coming to the airport’s new Concourse B at 2400 Yankee Clipper Drive, where the Jacksonville-themed retail shop is being built as part of the new terminal expansion.
A permit was issued this month for Auld & White Constructors to build out the retail space, according to the Jacksonville Business Journal. The permit is part of a larger wave of construction activity underway ahead of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority’s estimated December 30 opening for the new concourse.
Postcards from Jax will focus on Jacksonville-inspired merchandise and regional imagery, giving travelers an opportunity to take home a reminder of the city.
The shop will be one of four new retail concepts planned for Concourse B. The lineup also includes The Beaches@Jax, which will focus on coastal-themed merchandise, and the Five Points General Store, which will highlight products connected to one of Jacksonville’s best-known urban neighborhoods.
For Postcards from Jax, the new location offers a fitting home for a shop centered on Jacksonville, serving travelers as both a retail stop and a small introduction to the city they are visiting.
The new Concourse B is currently scheduled for an estimated opening at the end of the according to the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.
