Those in need of a quick instrument fix will soon have a go-to spot.

Longtime Guitar Works employee Conor Madigan is bringing his own guitar repair shop to the city at 1608 Maple Avenue, per a report from Evanston Now. At the space, Madigan will offer both repairs and music lessons. Right now, he is hoping to open sometime later this year.

Conor worked at the former business at a young age, which later moved to 709 Main Street in the city. Famous musicians he has repaired instruments for include Buddy Guy, Styx, Robbie Fulks, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shinobu Sato. After college, he helped build the second location.

At the space, guitar teacher will offer half-hour lessons for $36 or $72. The prices for instrument repairs is still being evaluated, with ranging from $35-160 per hour depending on the product. All kinds of guitars can be repaired, including electric, acoustic and bass, along with amplifiers.

The building is right at the corner of Davis and Maple Avenue. Gigio’s restaurant is also at the building, and this is next to Table to Stix Ramen. Bennion’s Bakery is right across the street, and the Evanston-Davis Metra station is close-by.

Right now, Madigan is working on cleaning the space, and HVAC work needs to be done. More updates can be found on madigansguitarworks.com.
