A Dallas-based ice cream company is expanding its company-owned footprint as part of a broader growth plan. According to public filings, Howdy Homemade Ice Cream is planning a new location in Richardson at 1930 N. Coit Road, Suite 140.
Founded in Dallas in 2015, Howdy Homemade is known for its super-premium ice cream and its mission of employing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The company has made inclusive employment a central part of its business model.
The Richardson project comes as Howdy Homemade moves forward with an ambitious expansion plan. In December 2025, Undivided Life announced that it had become a co-owner of the company.
The partnership is focused on increasing the number of company-owned stores, expanding Howdy Homemade’s catering business, and creating additional employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What Now Dallas reached out to Cody Slape, Chief of Operations at Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, for additional information about the Richardson location and the company’s expansion plans but did not receive a response before publication. Permitting records list a construction completion date of December 2026. However, dates listed in public filings are not always definitive.
The company’s growth plan calls for more than 60 new company-owned locations by 2030 and more than 1,000 jobs for adults with special needs, according to PRNewswire. Howdy Homemade has received national recognition for its employment model, including the 2025 National Down Syndrome Congress Employer of the Year Award.
