Two new Metro Detroit Chick-fil-A restaurants will begin serving Guests this November.
To celebrate the new restaurants, Chick-fil-A, Inc. is donating a total of $50,000 to support local hunger relief efforts, with $25,000 each going to Gleanors Community Food Bank and Forgotten Harvest, two Feeding America partners. The celebrations will continue on opening day with a Moove-In Party — and free food — at each restaurant! See below for details.
Chick-fil-A 8 Mile & Woodward

- Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Detroit-native Ken Wright to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A 8 Mile & Woodward. Both restaurants will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Opening Day Moove-In Party
To celebrate the two restaurants moo-ving into town, Lauren and Ken are inviting their communities to show off their cow spots on their respective opening days for a free entrée.
- Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat Mor Chikin” – and now it’s Detroit’s turn to join the herd.
- Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a simple cow-spotted accessory – can enjoy one free entrée or kid’s meal.
Caring for Metro Detroit
In celebration of the new restaurants, Chick-fil-A is supporting efforts to address food insecurity across the greater Detroit community:
- Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate a total of $50,000 to Forgotten Harvest and Gleanors Community Food Bank, two Feeding America partners, to support local hunger relief efforts in honor of the new restaurants.
- Both restaurants will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits. The program has helped to create over 50 million meals nationwide to date.
- Chick-fil-A is committed to fostering local ownership and economic mobility by empowering individuals to run their own businesses and contribute to their community. Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members. To learn more about becoming a local Owner-Operator, visit
