A renowned luxury fashion house is coming soon to Bal Harbour.
Louis Vuitton will open on the first and second levels of the West Shops at Bal Harbour Shops.
The upscale, open-air shopping destination features a curated mix of luxury designer boutiques, specialty retailers and fine-dining establishments, with additional retail space planned as part of its ongoing expansion.
The expansion will add nearly 250,000 square feet to the shopping center, nearly doubling its existing retail space.
As reality TV personality Countess Luann de Lesseps famously quipped, “Even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes.” However, the fashion house’s new outpost appears to be in good company, with Hermès Paris, Tom Ford and Elisabetta Franchi also preparing to open locations.
Louis Vuitton is known for its signature handbags, leather goods, travel accessories, ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, jewelry and fragrances.
Louis Vuitton began his career in Paris in 1837, training under renowned trunk maker Romain Maréchal. After nearly two decades of apprenticeship, he launched his namesake business in 1854, building a reputation for handcrafted travel trunks.
The company opened its Asnières workshop in 1859, which remains a center for its leather goods and custom orders. By 1885, the brand had expanded beyond France with its first international store in London, setting the stage for its growth into a global luxury fashion house.
Bal Harbour Shops has not yet announced an official opening date, but its website lists the boutique as “opening soon.”
