A major motorsports development is taking shape near Palatka, where Roaring Pines Motor Club is planning a private destination built around driving, car collecting and trackside living.
The project is designed to offer considerably more than a place to take a car around a racetrack. Its master plan combines a professional road course with private garages, a clubhouse, a motorsports museum, residential properties and hospitality amenities.
According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, developers are targeting a December 2026 construction start, with up to $45 million in initial infrastructure investment planned. The project is being developed in Putnam County, close to Palatka Municipal Airport.
At the center of Roaring Pines will be a planned 3.5-mile road course featuring 20 turns. The track is being designed with the goal of achieving FIA Grade 2 certification and will offer multiple configurations for different driving experiences.
One proposed layout will cover 2.65 miles and include a 4,000-foot straight, banked corners, esses and elevation changes. A separate 0.85-mile circuit will offer a tighter layout designed to simulate urban driving conditions. The facility is intended to accommodate a range of motorsports activities, from driver training and private driving sessions to professional racing development.
The development’s garage spaces are another major part of the concept. Roaring Pines plans to offer custom-built garage lofts with different levels of finishes and features, including direct access to the pit lane. The idea is to give car owners a dedicated space to store and enjoy their vehicles while keeping them close to the track.
Plans also call for a clubhouse with a restaurant, lounge, gym, motorsports museum, driver training facilities and event space. A boutique hotel or lodge, corporate meeting rooms and aviation hangars are also included in the broader master plan.
Residential properties are part of the vision, too. The company describes plans for custom homes and a community built around a shared interest in cars and motorsports.
Roaring Pines is being led by co-owners Scott Lagasse Sr., Scott Lagasse Jr. and Warren Mosler. The Lagasses bring professional racing and driver-development experience to the project, while Mosler is listed as a co-owner and financial officer.
The development team also includes CUBE 3, which brings motorsports and design experience, and Rimrock Companies, which will assist with the project’s development.
Location is an important part of the plan. The property sits next to Palatka Municipal Airport, also known as Kay Larkin Field, allowing visitors to reach the destination by private aircraft. According to the club’s website, downtown Palatka is approximately 3.5 miles away, while St. Augustine and its beaches are about 30 miles from the site.
Roaring Pines is being positioned as an all-season destination, with Florida’s climate allowing for year-round driving, training and private track experiences. The project would bring a different kind of development to the Palatka area, combining motorsports, automotive storage, hospitality and residential living in one destination.
With construction targeted for December 2026, the next stage will be turning the ambitious master plan into a working facility. More information about the development, its amenities and membership opportunities is available through the Roaring Pines Motor Club website.
