Chuze Fitness is planning a new gym in Roseville, with an opening currently targeted for late 2027. The San Diego-based chain lists the location at 5811 Five Star Blvd. in the Fairway Commons shopping area, in the northwest part of the city.
The Roseville gym follows a change in Chuze’s Sacramento-area plans. What Now Sacramento previously reported that the brand was working on two new locations, one in Antelope and one in the former Raley’s space on Freeport Boulevard in South Land Park. The Freeport project, which was planned as a roughly 35,000-square-foot gym next to an Ace Hardware, appears to be off the table, and Roseville now appears to be taking its place on the company’s list of upcoming sites.
The Roseville address is a large retail building of about 34,000 square feet on a lot of roughly 3.6 acres, based on county property records. That is close to the size of Chuze’s other recent Sacramento-area gyms, which are big-box spaces with plenty of room for cardio, strength training and group classes.
Chuze is known for its low-cost memberships, which start at $9.99 per month, and for large gyms with extras such as childcare, group fitness studios and recovery amenities. In the region, it already operates gyms at 6061 Florin Road in south Sacramento and at 5995 Birdcage Center Lane in Citrus Heights.
An opening in late 2027 leaves plenty of time for permits, tenant improvements and hiring, and the date could shift. What Now Sacramento will follow up as more details come out on the building, the construction schedule and a pre-opening membership launch.
