A South Carolina based steakhouse is bringing its fare to a Memphis table. Oak Steakhouse, a concept from The Indigo Road Hospitality Group, is opening a new outpost in the Central Station Hotel, helping to breathe new life into the building, reports Daily Memphian.
The restaurant’s impending arrival is part of the overall rebranding and rejuvenation of the 545 S Main Street hotel. Oak Steakhouse is filling the hole left by Bishop when it closed in 2024. While the eatery does not have a definitive opening date yet, eager foodies can rest assured that it will be ready to serve them Certified Angus Beef at some point in 2027.
The Indigo Road founder Steve Palmer is enthusiastic about bringing Oak Steakhouse to Memphis. He states: “Oak Steakhouse was the very first concept we opened at The Indigo Road, so bringing it to Memphis makes this next chapter especially meaningful. I’ve really fallen in love with Memphis and its rich cultural history and I am incredibly excited about the long-term potential we see for the Central Station Hotel. We believe a hotel should truly be part of the fabric of its community, so our goal is not only to welcome visitors, but to engage locals in a meaningful way.”
Oak Steakhouse has several locations throughout the South and has earned critical acclaim from luminaries including Food Network, Conde Nast, and Eater. Its success is owed in no small part to its simple but progressive approach to its cuisine- “Rooted in tradition, elevated with intention—Oak Steakhouse is where the legacy of the American steakhouse meets a modern sensibility.”
