A new bagel shop is heading to Brookhaven this year. Owner Chad Dishner will open Dish’s Bagels at 1410 Lake Hearn Dr., Suite E, at AMLI Brookhaven.
The brand draws inspiration from Dishner’s family roots in New York. His maternal grandparents ran a coffee shop in Brown’s Hotel in the Catskills, serving classic New York breakfast items. Now, Dishner is looking to bring authentic New York bagels, deli sandwiches and a positive atmosphere to Brookhaven.
“Let’s be honest: life is too short to eat a sad, grocery-store bagel,” the website states. “At Dish’s Bagels, we opened our doors with one simple mission: to bring authentic, New York-style bagels to our neighborhood without losing that warm, Southern hospitality we all love. We don’t believe in cutting corners. We believe in early mornings, fresh dough, thick layers of cream cheese and deli sandwiches piled so high you have to use both hands.”
The spot will offer bagels and schmears, breakfast sandwiches, salad sandwiches, vegetarian options and “New York Style Dish’s Double” sandwiches featuring a variety of meats.
The website lists the expected opening as this spring. However, the location is still under construction, according to documentation of the renovation process shared recently on the brand’s Facebook page. A post last week described the project as having “still a lot of work ahead” but with noticeable progress taking place on the interior.
What Now Atlanta has contacted Dishner for additional details.
