A new cafe concept is on the way to a new development in Brookhaven. Larita Cafe will open in AMLI Brookhaven at 1420 Lake Hearn Dr. NE, Suite A. Owner Mohammed Saleh told What Now Atlanta that the team has just started construction and that they are targeting a late June or early July opening.

The cafe’s menu will focus on gelato, pastries, sandwiches and coffee, with offerings displayed on Larita Cafe’s website ranging from danishes and crepes to focaccia sandwiches and pistachio lattes. The goal is to offer a broad range of options to appeal to a variety of customers.

“We are trying to be open late and also be a place for families,” Saleh said. “Adults can enjoy the pastries and coffee, and the kids can enjoy the gelato.”

The cafe will offer a 1,450-square-foot interior and an outdoor space that is approximately the same size. The design of the space will draw on contemporary and classic elements, aiming to create a cozy, open environment.

The brand will join other businesses like Dish’s Bagels, which is also currently under construction, and Elan Nails at AMLI Brookhaven. A video posted on SummitEdge Contractor’s Facebook page — the contractor handling buildout for AMLI Brookhaven — displayed the space for Larita Cafe in the early stages of construction in mid-April.

“I think that area has a lot of potential,” Angie, partner in Larita Cafe and Saleh’s wife, told What Now Atlanta. “We want to make sure we’re able to include everybody, young and old. Hopefully it will become a favorite hangout spot for people in the area.”

Eventually, Saleh hopes to expand to additional locations.
