Jefe’s Tacos & Tequila over the weekend shuttered its doors for good in Town Brookhaven, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The taco joint’s last day was Sunday, January 21.

“To all of our wonderful friends and family, we would like to take a moment to thank you all for your amazing support over the past year and a half,” the restaurant said on the social media site.

“We would also like to inform you that after some very serious consideration, we have decided to sell the restaurant.”

The owners of Jefe’s sold the space to Mimmo Alboumeh to open a Red Pepper Taqueria there, according to the announcement.

Alboumeh Monday confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta.

Red Pepper Taqueria will replace the now-shuttered Jefe’s in about six weeks, he said.

Alboumeh operates existing locations of the sit-down taco concept in Buckhead and Decatur.
