UPDATE (January 19, 2018): New Thai Concept Chai Yo—From Tuk Tuk Team—To Grand Open February 1

DeeDee Niyomkul, owner and founder of Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft, is planning Chai Yo, a new Thai concept for Buckhead.

The restaurant would replace the now-shuttered J. Christopher’s in the Two Buckhead Plaza development, Mike O’Kelly, director of operations at Tuk Tuk and Nan Thai Fine Dining, and operating partner at Chai Yo, Monday in an email confirmed with What Now Atlanta (WNA.)

“Chai Yo will bring a chef-driven Thai concept featuring Chef DeeDee Niyomkul’s interpretation of traditional and old world Thai recipes using new world techniques and inspiration,” O’Kelly said.

The space, at 3050 Peachtree Road NW, would offer a “modern setting” including outdoor seating and a “full craft bar.”

For the menu, Chef DeeDee is collaborating with her mother Chef Nan Niyomkul of Nan Thai Fine Dining and Tamarind Seed.

Chai Yo is targeting an early Summer opening, joining restaurants like Seasons 52, Umi, Chops Lobster Bar, and King + Duke in the development.
