Golf apparel and accessories brand Eastside Golf is slated to open a new store at Phipps Plaza, according to the shopping center’s website. The store will be located on the second floor between LIV ATL and Sunglass Hut, and across from JoJo’s Atelier.
The brand was founded in 2019 by Atlanta native Olajuwon Ajanaku and fellow Morehouse College graduate Earl Cooper.
“Eastside Golf was built on a simple perspective: The game should be open to anyone who wants to play it,” the Phipps Plaza website states. “What began as Ajanaku’s self-funded pursuit of professional golf has grown into a brand working to raise awareness and participation among young people, non-golfers and historically underrepresented communities in the sport.”
The brand’s apparel and accessories, including bags and gloves, appear in stores across the U.S., as well as some in the United Kingdom.
The Eastside Golf team has sought to bring new elements of style to the realm of golf, launching an Air Jordan collaboration sneaker in 2021 to bring the worlds of sneaker-lovers and golfers together. Eastside Golf has continued to expand the partnership and offers a full line of specialty sneakers.
What Now Atlanta confirmed the forthcoming store with Cooper, but he was not immediately available to provide further comment. An opening timeline has not been announced yet.
