As a result of Sammataro’s co-owners parting ways, the pizzeria’s former West 10th location will now be home to La Volta, a new pizza establishment led by Isak Kurbasic.

“We are splitting away from the Sammataro business,” Isak Kurbasic told Eater. “I can’t really divulge too much about what happened there, but we just had to cut ties with our previous business partner.” Isaac Flores, the business partner in question, will be keeping the food truck and is set to move to 2902 East 12th Street.

Eater reports that at La Volta “the kitchen will remain committed to serving up wood-fired New York-style pizza,” and that “the name change gives the team the opportunity to finesse the overall menu and beverage offerings. Chef Cole Curcio, who was restaurant’s head chef before, will continue to oversee the food.”

While no specifics about menu items have been announced, La Volta’s fresh new website says that the pizzeria will also serve wine, beer, cocktails, meatballs, and “sweet treats.”
