A local bagelry is expanding once again.
Brick Street Bagels is preparing to open its third location at 160 Charles Street in Boston’s Beacon Hill, Bret Clancy recently reported. The new shop will take over the former Savenor’s Market space next to The Whitney Hotel.
Launched from founder Jordan Renouf‘s South End apartment in 2022, Brick Street Bagels began as a way for the young entrepreneur to connect with his community.
Before and after his full-time job, he delivered freshly baked bagels by bike in the early mornings and late evenings, gradually building a loyal customer base one doorstep at a time. As demand grew, the business expanded beyond deliveries and began hosting pop-ups in local parks and at The Buttery in the South End.
Today, Brick Street Bagels operates two brick-and-mortar locations in the South End and South Boston, the latter of which is housed in the former Sweet Tooth Bakery space. The no-frills menu features plain, everything, sesame, rosemary and sea salt, cheddar, and poppy bagels paired with schmears like plain, scallion, dill pickle, and bacon scallion. Breakfast bagel sandwiches are also available.
The Beacon Hill shop will offer a few new additions. According to an Instagram update from the business, the new location will debut a full bagel, sandwich, and espresso program complete with a dedicated coffee counter and expanded seating for guests looking to linger a little longer.
Due to the shop’s proximity to Massachusetts General Hospital, Renouf said he plans to open the upcoming location early to serve nurses, hospital employees, and other early-shift workers looking for breakfast before heading in.
“This is a big step for Brick Street,” Renouf wrote in the announcement. “Moving into a new neighborhood on a pricey street with a very expensive ground-up build ahead of us. We hope you can help spread the word and come support once doors open. It is a total honor to be joining the Charles St community and Beacon Hill neighborhood.”
Brick Street Bagels is expected to welcome guests to its forthcoming Beacon Hill location in the fall of 2026.
