A national steakhouse chain is preparing to sizzle into Lexington later this year.
The Lexington County Planning Commission issued landscape permits for LongHorn Steakhouse, which is set to debut along Platt Springs Road.
As its name suggests, the chain is known for its “famous, expertly crafted” steaks, including Flo’s Filet, Outlaw Ribeye, Renegade Sirloin, fire-grilled T-bone, the LongHorn Porterhouse and New York Strip.
LongHorn Steakhouse also serves chicken, pork chops, ribs, shrimp and salmon, along with a variety of shareable plates, sides and desserts.
The steakhouse first fired up the grill in Atlanta in 1981. A year later, a “freak snowstorm” shut down the interstate and drove hungry travelers into the restaurant, giving LongHorn Steakhouse its first major boost in popularity.
Today, the chain operates more than 500 locations. The new Lexington outpost will expand the Midlands’ footprint, joining existing Columbia-area locations on Harbison Road, Decker Boulevard and The Vista on Gervais Street.
LongHorn Steakhouse is expected to open in December, according to the company’s website. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
