According to Block Club Chicago, Boka Restaurant Group’s Zarella Pizzeria & Taverna aims to debut in River North at 531 N Wells Street.
“Zarella Pizzeria & Taverna will open early next year at 531 N. Wells St. It is the latest venture from Boka Restaurant Group, which is behind celebrated eateries like Girl & The Goat, Cabra, and Boka. Zarella will bring more pizza options to Downtown, said Boka Restaurant Group in a press release.”
“One of Zarella’s pizzas includes carbonara sauce with pancetta, pecorino and egg, while another combines spicy vodka sauce with Calabrian chili and mozzarella. The restaurant will also serve Italian classics like chicken piccata, eggplant parmesan and calamari.”
“The new restaurant promises to have a classic Italian pizza eatery vibe, and will incorporate a rotating menu for Italian specials that will be updated on a chalkboard presented to diners, the release added. The two-level Zarella will also feature both a main dining room clad in mahogany and a bar. A downstairs tavern will be open for diners looking for cocktails or wanting to host private events.”
“Once it opens, Zarella will be one of more than 15 Boka Restaurant Group spots in Chicago. Since opening its flagship restaurant, Boka, in 2003, the restaurant group has opened more than 35 spots over the past two decades and earned 18 James Beard Award nominations.”
