According to public filings, Carnicería Nuñez plans to open at 1607 E. McKinney St., Suite 650, in Denton. Permitting records list a construction completion date of October 2026.
Owner Carlos Nuñez told What Now Dallas he’s still waiting on permits before construction can begin inside the space but is targeting an opening later this year. “I’m just waiting for the permit, and then I can start working inside,” he said.
Carnicería Nuñez will be a butcher shop focused on serving the community and offering accessible pricing on meat.
Nuñez is also behind Toros Tacos, a taquería located at 1607 E. McKinney St., Suite 400, that offers birria, grilled carne asada tacos, and other Mexican staples with “bold, honest flavors to every plate.”
While this will be his first butcher shop, Nuñez said the concept draws on family experience, as his father and uncle ran a carnicería years ago. “We already have the know-how from before,” he told What Now Dallas.
Nuñez is open to expanding the concept further down the road but said his immediate focus is getting this first location up and running. When asked about the community, he pointed to his excitement about expanding his presence in Denton and his hope of becoming an active part of the area.
