A pet grooming and bakery franchise with a distinctive approach to animal care may be opening in Flower Mound. According to public filings, Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery could open at 6161 Long Prairie Road, Suite 120, within The Highlands at Flower Mound.
What Now Dallas reached out to franchisee Hwasoo Kyung, who confirmed the project is in early stages and declined to share further details, with an opening possible by late 2026 or early 2027.
Founded in 2018 and now part of the Loyalty Brands portfolio, Salty Dawg was built around a philosophy of transparent, open-floor grooming, allowing pet owners to see every step of the process. The brand trains licensed hairdressers and cosmetologists through an expedited grooming program, leveraging technical skills like scissor cutting, clipper-over-comb technique, and knowledge of hair texture, skin, and nail conditions. The result, the brand says, is a higher standard of care than what traditional grooming shops typically offer.
Beyond grooming, Salty Dawg’s in-store bakery offers human-grade, natural treats including biscuits, soft chews, and specialty items made fresh for dogs, according to the brand’s website.
The Flower Mound location would add to Salty Dawg’s growing Texas footprint. The Highlands at Flower Mound is a well-trafficked retail corridor in Denton County, serving a community known for its high rate of pet ownership and family-oriented demographics.
