Recess Beer Garden is bringing its laid-back patio atmosphere to Denver’s Auraria Campus, with a second location set to open at the historic Tivoli Student Union next month.
The new Recess Tivoli will take over the space formerly occupied by Quad Side Tavern and Tivoli Brewing. In its announcement, Recess said on its Instagram page the location will bring its signature patio experience to the heart of downtown, with an August 2026 opening planned.
The restaurant will also feature a full kitchen and gathering space, creating a new food and social option for students, faculty, staff and visitors to the Auraria Campus. The campus officially announced the project on July 20.
Recess is also known for a hearty food menu, with Angus beef smashburgers, chicken wings and tenders, hot dogs and a selection of chicken sandwiches and wraps among the offerings.
