Amidst the bustling blocks of Boulder’s Pearl St., a new culinary venture is on the horizon. Avant Garden Bistro, a gourmet vegan restaurant, is preparing to make its mark on the local dining scene at 1002 Walnut St. Ste 101B.

Situated in the space formerly occupied by The Mediterranean Restaurant, Avant Garden Bistro’s timeline for opening remains uncertain. Construction at the property is complete, and the company’s website states it is “coming soon” although they did not return comment.

Overthrow Hospitality has a portfolio boasting 11 all-vegan food concepts: Amor y Amargo, Cadence, Etérea, Ladybird, Proletariat, Soda Club, Third Kingdom, Ubuntu, All Hands, and Avant Garden New York.

The Mediterranean Restaurant, a long-standing fixture in downtown Boulder, closed its doors in 2020 amidst the economic turmoil caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. While the future of The Mediterranean remains uncertain, there is hope for its revival for it to come back next to Avant Garden Bistro.
