The Daily Press Cafe is a new concept coming to 22001 Michigan Avenue, Suite 150 in downtown West Dearborn. This is replacing the bubble tea spot Kung Fu Tea which reopened under new management last year. Owner Mohamad Alshormany told What Now Detroit he and the team are aiming for an Aug. 1 opening.

Alshormany changed the concept with a cafe themed to news in mind. The inside will have a classic television and carry the vibes of a newsroom.

“More than just a cafe we’re creating a space for community, connection, and everyday moments. A place to gather, unwind, and feel at home,” says a recent post from The Daily Press Cafe Instagram page.

The new location will serve coffees, teas, smoothies and deli sandwiches. Alshormany said they plan to have seasonal drinks as well. He and the team will be releasing a full menu closer to the opening.

Daily Press Cafe is being built at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street, close to Paradise Street Eats & Biryani. Mint 29 fusion restaurant is across the street, along with Qahwah House coffee. This is not far from the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

The announcement just came three days ago, so it is early in the construction process. For more information on Daily Press Cafe and the opening date, visit their Instagram page.
