Texan Food Mart is on its way to a hefty construction project. According to a recently filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, Texan Food Mart at 101 County Line Rd in Willis is set to undergo a year-long construction project estimated at $351,420.

The permit further details that construction at the Texan Food Mart in Willis is expected to start this August and is slated to wrap in August of next year. The project calls for a 1,000-square-foot building addition. If all goes well with permitting and the rather costly construction project, Texan Food Mart should be completed by next Summer.

It is likely that the convenience store with a gas station on the outside and Krispy Krunch Chicken on the inside will stay open during the construction project. But that has yet to be confirmed.

What Now Houston spoke with co-owner Amin Maredia a few times, who was also listed on the permit. Maredia would not divulge any details about the upcoming construction project, nor confirm whether the Texan Food Mart will indeed close during it. But we’re sure that as we inch closer to the start of the project, it will become apparent whether Texan Food Mart will keep the doors open during renovations.

While there is an unclaimed Yelp page for the convenience store and gas station, Texan Food Mart does not appear to have a website or social media presence.

So keep your eyes open in the area and your ear to the ground for the latest on the new development at Texan Food Mart.

Texan Food Mart in Willis, at 101 County Line Rd, should be fully renovated and open by next summer.
