Brady’s Bakery, a Los Angeles baked-to-order cookie and bread pudding business founded by Reece Scelfo, is planning to open a permanent location in Echo Park on Sunset Boulevard.
The new brick-and-mortar is set to open in spring 2027 and will be next to Ggiata, according to Eater LA. Brady’s Bakery currently operates without a traditional permanent storefront, with its website directing customers to its Glendale bakery, which operates out of a shared commercial kitchen, for local pickup and delivery. Scelfo started baking at home in West Hollywood in 2015 and founded Brady’s Bakery in 2016 before leaving his corporate entertainment industry job to become a full-time baker in 2018.
Brady’s Bakery began as a part-time hobby for Scelfo, who started experimenting with baking at home after making a red velvet cake from scratch. According to the company’s website, he continued practicing on weekends and eventually moved from cakes and cupcakes to cookies. The business operated from Scelfo’s home through March 2020, when it moved into its first commercial space in South Central Los Angeles. The bakery later expanded its menu to include bread pudding and other seasonal items.
The bakery is named after Scelfo’s pet boxer, Brady. Its website describes the business as a baked-to-order cookie shop offering handcrafted, plus-sized cookies and bread pudding in a variety of flavors. The bakery currently offers local delivery, curbside pickup, and nationwide shipping, with desserts mixed in small batches and baked to order.
The announced cookie lineup for the Echo Park location includes Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt, Doughboy, Gluten-Free Peanut Butter and Jelly, and OMFG. Bread pudding options include Chocolate Chunk, Cinnamon Roll, That’s Bananas, and Bad Bunny. Scelfo also plans to potentially add biscuits, baguettes, cinnamon rolls, cold brew, drip coffee, and horchata.
Brady’s Bakery currently offers gluten-friendly and plant-based options, and its website states that the business donates a percentage of sales throughout the year to nonprofit organizations it supports. The company’s current operations also include partnerships with local retail shops that distribute its cookies.
