A Lansing, Michigan-based coffee chain has announced plans to open 10 new locations in the Memphis area over the next five years.

With nearly 500 locations nationwide, Biggby Coffee debuted its first Greater Memphis site at 200 S Germantown Pkwy in Cordova last February.

“We’ve had a great response,” local franchisee Jabin Newhouse told Memphis Business Journal. “I think everybody wants to try something new… That’s obviously part of it. But I think also the breadth of our menu, the wide variety, has really piqued a lot of interest.”

Encouraged by the success of the Cordova location, the chain is aiming to expand with up to 10 additional locations in the area.

“Jabin is exactly that type of person who we’re looking for, who’s going to get involved in their community because every community needs support,” said Tony DiPietro, VP of emerging market development for Biggby.

In addition to a wide variety of coffee beverages, Biggby serves tea lattes, Blast Energy Drinks, Creme Freeze Smoothies, pastries, bagels, and “Bragels,” a unique breakfast sandwich. The café also offers sugar- and dairy-free options, as well as vegan Bragels at select locations.

Stay tuned for specific addresses and opening dates as Biggby Coffee continues to expand its footprint in the Memphis area.
