Southaven diners will soon be getting a taste of one of Memphis’s top Chinese restaurants. Petals of a Peony is bringing its Michelin lauded cuisine to the area.

While this announcement is undeniably exciting and is certain to inspire enthusiasm and hunger in local diners, many details remain nebulous. Petals of a Peony informed fans of the new location via social media post. The text is simple but direct: “Y’all asked. Southaven. Raleigh. We coming. New locations coming soon. Stay tuned.”

While this is enough information to make local stomachs rumble, it does leave some salient questions unanswered. A precise address is not yet available for Petals of a Peony’s Southaven location, nor is a timeline. What Now Memphis has made contact with leadership and will update readers as details become available.

The comment section beneath the post is filled with enthusiastic Southaven foodies, eager to welcome the celebrated concept, reflective of the impact Petals of a Peony has had on the area culinary scene. The restaurant, which the Michelin Guide describes as “ground zero for fiery, tongue-numbing, chili-laden Sichuan cuisine”, first entered the dining world in 2023 in Cordova. It now has multiple locations and a fast-casual spin-off called Little Petal.
