Madison is getting a new home for Southern comfort, courtesy of one of Mississippi’s most accomplished chefs. Chef Nick Wallace is bringing Hen & Egg-already a hit in Jackson-to the neighborhood next year, bringing with it acclaimed cuisine that locals won’t want to miss.
Hen & Egg will be joining the The Gallery, an upcoming mixed-use development. According to the Bellamare Development website, the restaurant will be one of the tenants occupying building A, which will span 27,374 square feet and will house various dining, events, and office spaces.
Hen & Egg founder Nick Wallace announced the new location on Facebook. He expressed what the Madison restaurant will mean to the concept, saying: “This isn’t simply about opening another restaurant. It’s about continuing to grow a Mississippi brand that celebrates our roots, tells our story through food, and creates spaces where people can gather around unforgettable experiences.”
Hen & Egg does not yet have a finalized date for when it will be opening on Royal Street, however social media posts pertaining to the restaurant assure future regulars that it should be customer-ready at some point in 2027.
Hen & Egg has made a strong impression in Jackson, thanks to how Chef Nick Wallace “reimagines Southern comfort food with a modern twist — from breakfast and brunch to bold lunch plates.” The menu, described as “a bold tribute to Southern roots and culinary creativity”, features a range of innovative omelets alongside wings, burgers, gumbo, and catfish.
