This autumn will be a season of growth for a beloved Mississippi eatery. Delta Roots Takery and Catering Company is in growth mode, expanding into the space next door to further serve its devoted customers. The concept will be taking on a familiar but slightly different name to reflect this evolution-Delta Roots Takery & Eatery.
Delta Roots, which was named Greenwood’s Restaurant/Retail of the year for 2026, alerted fans to the expansion of its current 100 East Claiborne Suite A home via social media post. The September 4 announcement states: “We are staying right where we are and expanding into the building between us and Bowie Realty! This new space will give us the dining room so many of you have asked for over the years, along with room to accommodate larger groups and private parties.”
The post further states that the establishment will be changing its name to Delta Roots Takery & Eatery, explaining the motivation behind the rebranding as: “Our heart, food, and service will remain the same, but we are growing into a space that better reflects all we hope to offer our community.”
Locals won’t need to wait too long to experience this exciting new chapter of the Delta Roots story; ownership anticipates being ready by November 1.
Owned and founded by Holley Poe, Delta Roots has earned considerable acclaim for its beloved cuisine. The menu features delicious interpretations of familiar and comforting favorites, including wraps, “Poe” boys, croissant sandwiches, salads, and burgers.
