Terry Black’s Barbecue remains on track to open its first Tennessee location in early 2027 at 1220 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard in Germantown. According to a recent announcement from Texas-based Black Family Hospitality, reported by Wine Industry Advisor, the Nashville restaurant will mark Terry Black’s Barbecue’s first location outside of Texas.
The Nashville opening is part of the company’s largest expansion initiative to date. Over the next 18 months, the hospitality group plans to expand Terry Black’s Barbecue with new locations in Houston, New Braunfels, San Antonio and Nashville while continuing to grow its portfolio with additional dining, entertainment and wine concepts.
According to Black Family Hospitality’s website, siblings Christina, Mike and Mark Black founded Terry Black’s Barbecue in Austin in 2014, building the concept on generations of Texas hospitality and family tradition. Since then, the brand has expanded to Dallas, Fort Worth, Lockhart and Waco. The company’s website says Terry Black’s is known for its Central Texas-style barbecue, serving slow-smoked brisket, beef ribs, house-made sausage and traditional barbecue sides.
“Our family has never measured success by the number of restaurants we open,” co-founder Mark Black said in the announcement. “We’ve always believed in creating places where people gather, celebrate and build traditions. Every concept offers a different experience, exceptional food, genuine hospitality and meaningful connections.”
According to Black Family Hospitality, Terry Black’s Nashville restaurant will be followed by the opening of Opal’s Oysters, another concept in the company’s portfolio, at the same Germantown development. Both are expected to debut in early 2027 as Black Family Hospitality expands beyond its Texas roots into the Nashville market.
