Mugsy’s Coffee Company is preparing to expand its Clarksville footprint with a third location at 1243 Rossview Plaza, a new retail development taking shape near Exit 8. The veteran-owned coffee shop will join several businesses planned for the center, including a restaurant and bakery, according to Clarksville Now.
Owner and coffee roaster Ken Poindexter, who purchased the business in 2008, told WhatNow Nashville that the new café is expected to open in August, provided construction stays on schedule.
“This would be our third store, so we don’t want to saturate or overpopulate Clarksville,” Poindexter said. “But I think Exit 8 is a really good location, and it’s underserved when it comes to coffee.”
The new café will complement Mugsy’s existing Clarksville locations at 3291B Fort Campbell Blvd. and 620 Dunlop Lane, extending the brand’s reach into one of the city’s fastest-growing commercial corridors.
While Poindexter said the company could expand again in the future, he noted that any additional growth would depend on finding another location with similar potential.
“Possibly,” he said when asked about future expansion. “But it has to be another good location like Exit 8.”
As for what customers can expect, Poindexter said the newest shop will continue the approach that has defined the business for more than two decades.
“The same hospitality, the same good service and the same good drinks that we’ve been serving for more than 20 years—I think that’s going to remain our staple,” he said.
