After opening in April at Pier 57, the restaurant is now preparing to open a kiosk location with seating in the 15th Street Porch on the High Line. According to filings with Community Board 4, the High Line location will have a more condensed menu than the Pier 57 menu, both of which focus on paninis, soups, and salads. While the first location offers Roman-style Pizza al Taglio, the High Line location will offer seven different types of focaccia. It is also seeking a beer and wine license. Non-alcoholic options include sparkling water, soft drinks, lemonade, coffee, and mocktails. What Now New York has reached out for more information.
Inspired by Italian apertivo culture, Al Volo is a new concept from the Realmuto Group, which includes the Realmuto shop in Penn Station. The name “Al Volo” translates to “on the fly” and is a reference to the fast-paced New York City lifestyle. However, guests at Al Volo are encouraged to slow their pace and enjoy themselves, if only momentarily.
