Local chain Apollo Bagels has another location in the works. It signed a lease for a 3,400-square-foot space at 121 Reade Street in January, according to Traded.
Apollo Bagels has been expanding this year. It just celebrated the opening of its fourth location in the Financial District in March, joining spots in East Village, West Village and Williamsburg.
The popular bagel spot, founded by Joey Scalabrino and Mike Fadem, started in Williamsburg as a pop-up during the pandemic, but it made the leap to brick-and-mortar with its East Village location in early 2024.
Its menu is centered around simple offerings, including plain, everything and sesame bagels. The menu features bagel sandwich options with various toppings such as cream cheese, butter and jam, and smoked salmon. There are also some drink options, including coffee, orange juice and ginger lemonade.
The chain has gained acclaim from various sources, landing on the New York Times’s list of best bagels in the city last year. It is also expected to start making inroads in New Jersey, according to an article in NJ.com last fall.
As of now, there is no word about when the new Tribeca location might open. What Now New York reached out to the ownership team but could not obtain a comment prior to the time of publication.
