The owners of a planned Italian restaurant called Prosciutto are seeking a beer, wine, and cider license for 435 E 9th St., according to documents filed with the city. While public information regarding the planned East Village spot is short on details, co-owners Gabriele Tosi and Mattia Casarin were recently the executive chef and head chef, respectively, at Fiaschetteria Pistoia. The Tuscan restaurant with locations in the West Village and East Village is known for its handmade pasta.
The ground floor restaurant is slated to be open for lunch and dinner, with table seating for about 20 guests and a maximum capacity of 45 people. Permit documents said there are plans for live acoustic jazz and karaoke. What Now New York has reached out for more information.
