Zaro’s Cafe will permanently shut its doors after 32 years of service. The restaurant, located on West Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, will serve its final day of service on Saturday, April 25. The restaurant cited financial strain and changing economic conditions as the reasons for closure.

Huntington Staple Zaro’s Cafe Closing After Three Decades​

Zaro’s Cafe recently announced its closure on social media, sharing the news through the Huntington Matters Community Forum. After more than three decades of operation, the family-owned restaurant will host its last service this weekend.

The restaurant team shared, “Our final day will be Saturday, April 25th. We hope you’ll stop in one last time for one more bite of your favorites and a chance to say goodbye.”

The restaurant, founded in 1993, is known for its traditional Greek and Italian cuisine. With its approachable menu and relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant has remained a local favorite over the years.

The team added, “Thank you for 32 unforgettable years and for allowing us to be a part of your lives.”

In the post, the restaurant team thanked the community for its support and wrote, “We are grateful for those who supported us, remained loyal, and the many memories we’ve shared together. You were never just customers- you were family.” ​

Ongoing Economic Struggles Led to Closure

In the official announcement, the restaurant team cited ongoing financial and operational challenges as the reason for closing.

“As a small mom and pop business, we’ve weathered many ups and downs, especially in the years following COVID, but the ongoing economic challenges have made it impossible to continue,” said the team.

Over the years, the restaurant built its reputation for Greek and Mediterranean dishes and a straightforward, approachable menu. Recommended items on the menu include Greek salad, baked clams, and other Mediterranean dishes.

As the news of its closure was shared on social media, several fans of the eatery expressed disappointment. One of the customers wrote, “Thanks for being such a reliable restaurant! We loved your food!”
