A new dining destination is headed to New York City’s Upper East Side.

Il Moro, operated by Vincenzo Galia, will debut at 1130 First Ave. Manhattan Community Board 8 filings show the restaurant recently applied for a liquor license.

According to the liquor license application, the restaurant plans to operate as a full-service establishment with a chef-driven kitchen serving liquor, wine, beer and cider. The proposal does not include outdoor seating, live music or other entertainment.

While few details have been announced, the Upper East Site reported the new concept will be an upscale Sicilian restaurant inspired by Italy’s island region.

Il Moro will join several Italian and Sicilian restaurants already operating on the Upper East Side, including Piccola Cucina Uptown, 83 1/2 and Nica Trattoria.

Whatnow New York City reached out to the Il Moro team. This article may be updated.
