A new restaurant is set to open on New York City’s Lower East Side this fall.
Mili got its start as a series of pop-up events across the city and abroad, led by Alexis White and chef Jorge Luis Pabon. Now, the concept is settling into a permanent home at 123 Ludlow St.
The duo are no strangers to the restaurant industry. Southern-born hospitality veteran White has worked at Brass, The Tusk Bar and Altro Paradiso, while chef Pabon’s résumé includes Estela, The French Laundry and El Celler de Can Roca.
Mili will offer an intimate neighborhood experience inspired by the creative wine bars shaping New York’s dining scene.
The fare will be seasonal and market-driven, with the menu still taking shape. A sample menu features dishes such as cured scallops with melon and shiso; rice with crab and roasted peppers; duck with roasted eggplant and apple; and swordfish with spring onion sauce and sea lettuce.
A spokesperson told Whatnow New York City the team is targeting a late September opening. Once open, Mili will operate Wednesday through Sunday from 5 to 11 p.m. and remain closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
