Wild Ivy is a new drinking and dining destination in Gramercy. Wild Ivy was just brought to life by Mick O’Sullivan, the owner of Bell Book & Candle in the West Village and Peter O’Connell, the owner of both Molly’s and Malone’s on Third Avenue.
The menu includes Crispy Deviled Eggs, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings or Mini Meatballs with Chimichurri to start. Larger plates include a Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich, Grilled 16oz Ribeye and a Grilled Cheese & Truffle Sandwich. Guests can also indulge in pizzas including the Italian Flag with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil, the Old Stand By with Ezzo pepperoni or the flavorful Spicy Meatball with Serrano chile. Lighter options include a Heirloom Tomato salad, Stone Fruit Mixed Green Salad or a classic Caesar. Wild Ivy will also offer a full brunch menu beginning at the end of October.
Bar Director Kelly Jakobs conceptualized a cocktail menu that pays homage to Wild Ivy’s location in Gramercy. Specialty cocktails include Ruggle’s Choice made with vodka, Kahlua, espresso and pumpkin spice, the color-changing Poison Ivy made with butterfly pea infused Grey Goose, lemon and lavender, Booth’s Hooch with dill infused gin, lime, ginger and beet, Irresistible Irving with rum, lime, peach, cinnamon and angostura, and the South of 23rd with jalapeno infused tequila, lime and a raspberry infused salt rim. Happy Hour is offered on weekdays from 4pm – 7pm with $6 beers, $7 house wine, $4 off of specialty cocktails and $1.50 oysters.
The interior includes the Abstract Expressionist work of the late NYC artist Rick Librizzi, who lived in the Chelsea Hotel, and can be found adorning every wall at Wild Ivy. Librizzi was a contemporary of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat and his work hints at those connections. Low lighting, a gorgeous bar and oversized booths can be found throughout the space. Wild Ivy seats 74 guests in this 1800 square feet venue.
The bar is located at 293 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10010 and is open from 4pm till late, 7 nights per week. Happy hour is offered on weekdays from 4pm-7pm.
