Milliken & Company has announced plans to close a facility in Nicholls, resulting in 81 job cuts in the region. Milliken filed a WARN notice with the state of Georgia regarding the decision.
Milliken Plans to Close a Georgia Facility
Milliken submitted a notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. The company is planning to close its facility at 2410 GA-32, Nicholls, in Georgia. The decision is expected to impact all 81 employees at the worksite.
In the filing, the company said it is actively seeking internal job opportunities for impacted employees. The layoffs are expected to take place on July 10 and October 30, 2026.
The company has listed the impacted job positions in the filing but did not provide a reason for the closure. Milliken has also carried out previous workforce reductions.
According to a report by Strauss Borrelli PLLC, the company notified the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce in February. The company conducted mass layoffs at its facility in Jonesville, South Carolina, impacting 126 employees.
