A Sea Isle City nightlife staple (or day) is set to expand over the next few years.

KIX Night Club and Bar, owned by Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family, is planning to add a rooftop bar and an upscale restaurant to its property.

The renovation has been in the works and an idea for years. This job is about two to three years out because we want to make sure this project is done right and has all the extra details we want to incorporate,” Executive Vice President Carmela Desiderio told What Now Philadelphia.

The property opened in 1965 as The Pentagon Bar. The Desiderio family bought it in 1982 and transformed it into KIX. Since then, KIX has grown into seven bars across a single property.

The property currently includes the Main Lounge, Pentagon Bar, SideKix Lounge, KIX Patio, KIX Stand, Kit Kat Club and Back KIX. It also offers KIX on the Go, allowing guests to take signature drinks home, including the popular Miami Vice, Orange Crush and frozen margaritas.

The renovation will also enclose SideKix Lounge with windows opening during the day.

“With this new renovation we will be at 9 bars on 1 property. You will never have to leave to bar hop,” Desiderio said.

The Desiderio family is eager to get the project underway.

“We are very excited for it to start and to be completed,” she said.

KIX Night Club and Bars will remain open throughout the renovation. Visit the website or follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
