After winning a World Record, a New Jersey institution is preparing for its next big project-a new location. Meximodo Cocina Mexicana + Tequila Bar is opening its second storefront in downtown Jersey City later this year, reports local media outlet The Hoboken Girl.

The celebrated restaurant will be opening in the 56-floor Haus25 building. Meximodo Cocina Mexicana + Tequila Bar will have 8,000 square feet dedicated to it at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive. A representative for Meximodo confirms with What Now Philadelphia that while a precise opening date is not yet available, the eatery is aiming to begin greeting guests in mid-May.

Meximodo announced its new location on social media on March 1, saying “Meximodo is proud to announce our newest location in the heart of downtown Jersey City! Our expert taco makers and margarita shakers are ready to bring you the tacos, tequila, and good times you’ve been waiting for! See you this spring!”

The Jersey staple garnered national attention in 2024, when it earned recognition from the Guinness World Records for its astonishing array of agave spirits. Meximodo’s 1,033 distinct bottles brought it a tidy and definitive victory, allowing the restaurant to claim the title of “the biggest selection of agave spirits”.
