A coffee giant may be making its way to Dauphin County. A new Starbucks location is included in the plans for the proposed Halifax Commons shopping center, reports local media outlet Penn Live.

Planning for the project and all of its component parts is still in the highly preliminary stages. If approved, the Starbucks will occupy 2,488 square-feet of the property at 3616 Peters Mountain Road.

The shopping center is currently being developed by U & ME 3, LLC, who have submitted the proposal for the Halifax Commons to the township planning commission. However, Sara Glace, the township secretary states “There are a lot of things that need to be worked out.”

If the Halifax Commons receives all of the necessary approvals, the 11,900 square-foot shopping center will contain a Popeyes and an Advanced Auto Parts in addition to the Starbucks.

Starbucks opened its first store in Seattle in 1971. The coffee giant has since gone global, expanding to include more than 35,000 locations. The quick-service cafe offers a wide array of both hot and cold coffee drinks. Additionally, the restaurant offers breakfast sandwiches and a range of bakery treats.
